The Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS system has earned a reputation as solid navigation systems. The device is silver, rectangular, slim, and lightweight. The device weighs 6.2 inches. The device is 4.8 inches wide, 3 inches high and 0.8 inches deep. The devices are easy to use and offer accurate routing. Compared to the earlier Nuvis the Garmin Nuvi 750 has the added “Where Am I?” location feature. This feature aids the users in zeroing in on their location and nearby services in case of an emergency. However, there were slothful route recalculations.

The Garmin Nuvi 750 has a 4.3-inch diagonal touch screen and a 480 x 272 pixel resolution and white backlight. The maps, texts and images had a good quality of display. The screen is responsive and the menus are big enough for the users to see it and use it without making mistakes. The menu system and interface are simple and enable the user to use the Nuvi 750 right out of the box. The key board may appear to be slightly cramped but the user can choose between the QWERTY and ABC format. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack in the left hand side and an SD Expansion slot to load additional maps and media files. There is a power lock switch on the top and a mini USB port in the bottom. At the back are the speaker and external antenna jack. The car charger, a USB cable, a vehicle mount and reference material are provided with the Garmin Nuvi 750.

The City Navigator NT Maps of North America are preloaded into the Garmin Nuvi 750. A particular address can be found out, a POI can be chosen and a location can be chosen form the Recently Found or Favorites List. The device also supports multi-destination routes. This feature was lacking in the previously brought out Garmin Nuvi 600s .There is an automatic route recalculation facility. When the destination is set, the device can generate directions through fastest time, shortest distance or off road modes. The machine can be instructed to avoid particular road types. Detour function is present also if the users want to avoid a certain part of the route.

There is the POI database that has all the major categories and specific ones. The major categories are the gas stations, restaurants and lodgings. The specific types include golf courses and nightclubs. The Where Am I? Feature gives the user the coordinates of the user’s location, the nearest address and the intersection. The list of the closest hospitals, the police stations and gas stations are also given to the users. There are maps provided in 2D and 3D view and there are day and night colors. There is the facility of zooming in and zooming out through the plus and minus icons. There is also a trip information page that displays the user’s speed, trip time, etc. These are the features of the Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS system.

GPS or Global Positioning Systems have given navigation a new definition, something that has made human life across the planet easy and relaxed.
